Melissa Lloyd,

Melissa Lloyd, MA, LCMHC-A, NCC is Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in North Carolina and a National Certified Counselor. Melissa is now accepting new clients.

After finishing her time as a North Carolina Teaching Fellow and teaching high school for 5 years at a public and charter school, Melissa received her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University. WFU’s Counseling Program has been developed under The Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP) guidelines and standards.

Melissa began her tenure as a counseling intern at The Center for Creativity and Healing in January 2019, gaining training in working with children and adults who experience different issues, including parental conflict, anxiety, trauma, behavioral concerns, depression, and divorce. Melissa has a special interest in play therapy, court-involved therapy, working with families, expressive arts interventions, Mindfulness based approaches, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.

Melissa has attended 2018 and 2020 The Multicultural Play Therapy Center Conference held at UNCC. In October 2019, Melissa attended the Expressive Therapies Summit in New York City. Along with being a member of the AFCC, Melissa was a scholarship recipient to attend the 2019 AFCC Conference in Pittsburgh.
