This may include juvenile, family, domestic violence or drug court, potentially even civil court. Understanding the legal and ethical considerations, as well as best practices for court-involved therapists, is essential to managing cases effectively while reducing your liability and personal stress.
Participants will increase their understanding of AFCC guidelines for court-involved therapists and learn strategies for interfacing with the legal system in a professional and proactive manner. The presenter will share some common mistakes that therapists make in documentation and interactions with clients that may detract from their clinical reports in a legal setting.
